Mary Cathrine Morgan

Mary C. Morgan, 86, transitioned to be with her heavenly father on June 10, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville , VA.
She was born on December 19, 1936 in Augusta County a daughter of Anna F. Miller.
Her mother, and two brothers, Floyd Eugene Miller and Charles Edward Miller preceded her in death.
She is survived by a loving daughter, Adrine Y. (Toni) Morgan of Staunton, VA . Also surviving is a brother, Richard (Butch) Miller, a nephew, Rory Miller, a great niece, Jordyn Miller and a sister-in-law, Ovetta Miller, all of Texas.
She also leaves special cousins, Margaret Morgan, Wanda and Kelvin Washington, Z’nye Johnson, Deborah Bundy-Carpenter, Fontella and Lynwood Bundy, Joseph Gaines, Angela and David Crawford and Teresa and Roscoe McFadden and host of other relatives.
She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.
She retired after 26 years of service from Genesco in Verona, VA, as a presser.
She was a member of Paynes Chapel Methodist Church of Parnassus, VA until it closed. Then she became a member of Augusta Street United Methodist Church of Staunton, VA.
Mary was very quiet. She enjoyed watching and feeding birds and listening to jazz music. Every evening she enjoyed taking rides with her daughter.  Mary loved her family and church family.
Family would like to thank all of the ICU, 2nd and 3rd floor nurses and doctors at Augusta Health for caring Mary during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like for monetary donations to be made to Augusta Street United Methodist Church, 325 North Augusta Street, Staunton VA 24401.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Fairview Cemetery, Staunton, VA.  The family suggests that attendees please bring a chair, if they wish.
