Mark Anthony Viglione
Mark Anthony Viglione, 68 of Staunton, Virginia passed away at home on Saturday, October 7, 2023 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with a long illness.
He was born on February 16, 1955 to the late Joseph Viglione and Theresa Girard Viglione.
Mark was a graduate of the class of ’73 of Robert E. Lee High School and attended the University of Virginia. He then joined his father in the family catering business forming Viglione & Son. Upon his father’s retirement, he continued to run the business for many years which also operated the Cafeteria for Daikin Global (formerly Westinghouse) in Verona, VA until retiring in 2016.
Mark especially enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, and created many outdoor spaces that will continue to welcome family, friends and animals for years to come. Mark also enjoyed feeding his pet squirrels, a good cigar, traveling and vacationing at a Four Seasons Resort, and most of all making others laugh through his “mutterings” and songs. He will always be remembered for his quiet kindness and generosity to family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Dietz Viglione and son, Brian Viglione; his brothers, Dr. William (Jo) Viglione, Dr. Michael (Pat Peters) Viglione; a sister, Beth (Greg) Marshall; a brother-in-law, Jeff Dietz, (Tammy); and a sister-in-law, Debby Stone.
Additionally he is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as dear friends Sherry Ramsey and Grant Aleksander.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 in the Thornrose Cemetery.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is handling his arrangements.
