Marie "Kathryn" C. Spitzer

Marie "Kathryn" C. Spitzer, 96, of Port Republic, Virginia passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025.

She was born on December 11, 1928 and was the daughter of Guy Warren Spitzer and Lillian (Trainer) Spitzer.

Kathryn graduated from Port Republic High School in 1946. After school, she had worked as an Inspector for Crompton for 37 years.

She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She also loved to read and travel with friends and family. Kathryn was very involved with her church community at Port Republic United Methodist Church.

Kathryn is survived by two nieces, Patricia Mohler and Sandy Moore; a nephew, Winston "Danny" Moore, Jr. and wife Debra; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Moore and brother-in-law, Winston; and a nephew, Nelson Moore.

A service celebrating Kathryn's life will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Port Republic Mutual Cemetery with Pastor Glen Hughes officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes.
