Margaret "Peggy" Luanna Sheffer

Margaret "Peggy" Luanna Sheffer, 89, of Staunton, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025.

She was born on February 9, 1936, and was a daughter of the late Harry Griffith, Jr. and Virginia (May) Whetzel.

Peggy had worked in food service for Dunham-Bush for over 30 years, and loved to cook.

Peggy was united in marriage to Lloyd Sheffer, who preceded her in death.

Peggy is survived by children, Crystal (Curtis) Whetzel, Roger (Debbie) Eye, Danny Eye, Tommy (Diwanna) Eye, Donnie (Alana) Dove, Teresa (Paul) Tutwiler, and Randy (Laura) Harman; several grandchildren, including some special grandchildren, Heather (David) May, Samatha Flynn, Kayla (James) Ramsey, and Billie McCartney; several great grandchildren including a very special great-grandson, Kole Ryan Hensley; sisters, Rosalee McDorman, and Helen Rorbaugh, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by daughters, Cindy Mabe, and Linda Almond; siblings, Bud, Toby, and Paul Whetzel, Dorothy Dove, Jean Moyer, Wendy Vanmeter, and Karen Sites.

A service celebrating Peggy's life will be held at 12 PM on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes, with Pastor Kathleen Michael officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
