Malcolm Crawford

December 5, 1977 - June 8, 2026

Malcolm Wayne Crawford, 48, has lost his battle with cancer, Monday June 8, 2026. He was born on December 5, 1977 in Waynesboro Virginia to Beverly Wayne Crawford and the late Barbara Jean Dillard Crawford Ford.

Malcolm was always curious as a child and an adult. He loved taking things apart to attempt to put them back together. He loved life and he lived it 100%! His heart was as Big as his curiosity. He had a couple nicknames: Apple to dad, Cool Breeze to his childhood friends. Happy go lucky and most of the time his Luck was golden; just like the road he is walking on now.

He was preceded in death by our beautiful mother, Barbara Jean Dillard Crawford Ford; maternal grandparents, Carrington and Mary Dillard; maternal aunt, Gloria Goodwin; two maternal uncles, William (Bill) and Edward (Chick) Dillard; paternal grandfather, Ezell Crawford Sr., and paternal uncle, Ezell (Junie) Crawford Jr.

Malcolm is survived by his father, Beverly Wayne Crawford (Joyce) of Staunton; a stepfather Allen Ford of Virginia Beach; a paternal grandmother, Hattie Mae Morman Crawford Kelley; a daughter, Elyssa Ann Benthall (Jayden) of Ohio; three sons Malcolm Lasean Crawford (Jessie) of Stuarts Draft, Michael and Devon Crawford of Augusta County; a sister, Anika Crawford (Roger/Papa); three brothers, Allen Tucker (Kristy) of North Carolina, Deshawn Kelley, Jeremy Murchison; three grandkids, Carter, Kensley, and Kalani Crawford; three nieces, Anyla Crawford (Brandon), and Kiara Williams, Aubrielle Tucker of North Carolina; a nephew Nathaniel Tucker and a niece and nephew, Cleo Kelly and Deshawn Jerome Kelly, both of Northern Virginia; maternal great aunts, Allene (James) Jackson, Bernice (Alvin) Jackson, Ruby Dillard all of Waynesboro; a maternal aunt, Earsaline (James) Carter; three maternal uncles, Donald, Alan (Tammy), Michael (Pam) Dillard all of Waynesboro; two paternal aunts, Linda Blakey (Kenneth) of Waynesboro and Debbie (Alvin) Crawford of Staunton; two paternal uncles, Roger (Julia) and Gene Rodney Crawford. He has a few favorites of family and friends that include his ex-wife, Amber Crawford, Shenithia Carter, Tina Haliburton, Tawanna Crawford, Lucan Davis, and Scott Crawford; and gone but never forgotten RIH Dennis Mickens (Original Road Dogs)! Malcolm loved all his family and there are many more cousins and other family too many to name; “Respect, Love and Blessings!” Psalms 37:7 Surrender yourself to the Lord and wait patiently for Him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2026 in the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home Chapel, 619 Lifecore Dr., Fishersville, Virginia, with The Rev. Elaine Rose serving as Officiant. The family will receive friend for one hour prior to the service.

The family will receive friends that want to offer condolences at his sister’s residence in Waynesboro. Special thanks from the Crawford family to Charlton and Groome and Staff.

God Saw You God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be. So He wrapped His arms around you, And whispered. "Come to Me."

You didn't deserve what you went through, So He gave you a rest. God's garden must be beautiful, For He only takes the best.

And when I saw You sleeping, So peaceful and free from pain, I could not wish you back, To suffer that again. Share memories and condolences at www.charltonandgroomefuneralhome.com.
