Loretta Catherine Alt

Loretta Catherine Alt, age 74, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Keyser Healthcare Center in Keyser, WV.  She was born on October 28, 1948 in Cabins, WV, the daughter of the late Austin ”Buck” and Verda (Kisamore) Bennett.  Loretta was preceded in death by her husband Charles Fredrick “Bo” Alt on February 6, 2015.
Ms. Alt graduated from Petersburg High School in 1966.  She loved walking around town and talking with friends she met at Family Traditions and McDonalds.  Loretta always enjoyed a good meal and was an avid fan of country music.  
Loretta is survived by: a daughter, Shawna Lucas (David) of Ripley, WV; 2 sisters, Ronda Barger of Maysville, WV; Mildred Whetzel (Paul) of Petersburg, WV; and a grandson, Evan Moreland.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Alt.
Loretta’s family will receive friends on Monday, June 19, 2023 from 10 – 10:30 AM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Greg Rotruck officiating in the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, WV.  Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
