Lisa Carol Zimmerman

Lisa Zimmerman, 57, of Waynesboro, VA, unexpectedly went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Born on July 1, 1966, she was a daughter of the late Harry Zimmerman, Sr. and Phyllis Ann Keyton.

Lisa was the third of seven children, born and raised in Charlottesville, VA. Her motherly intuition was strong even at a young age, as she quickly stepped into a role of motherhood, helping to raise her younger siblings. She met Tony Hunt and even though they married at a young age, they spent over 20 amazing years together, and were blessed with three sons.

Her devotion to motherhood was so strong that she had more “adopted” kids than she had herself. The kind, caring and nurturing way she was made her loved more and more by everyone who got to know her. She truly never knew a stranger. Through her deep belief in the Lord, she lived to help anyone she could, never judge, and truly was an angel walking this earth. To do all of these things brought her true joy and fed her infectious laughter, and inspired her smile, which would light up any room. Those who had the privilege of knowing her will forever remember that infectious smile and laughter.

Lisa is survived by her three loving sons, Anthony Hunt of Charlottesville, VA, Michael Hunt of Waynesboro, VA, Christopher Hunt of Stuarts Draft, VA; sister, Tonya Zimmerman of Ruckersville, VA; brothers, Heath Zimmerman of North Garden, VA, Toby Zimmerman of Albermarle, VA, Billy Shifflett of Virginia Beach, VA, Gary Shifflett of FL, and David Keyton of AL.

There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, honoring Lisa’s love of children.
