Lillie Mae Zirkle

Lillie Mae Zirkle, 88, of Maurertown, VA passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, at Hidden Springs Senior Living in Bentonville, VA. 
A graveside service for Mrs. Zirkle will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2023, at Riverview Cemetery with Pastor Robert Funkhouser officiating.  
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Sunday, June 25, 2023, from 6-8 p.m.
Lillie was born in Needmore, WV on April 15, 1935, a daughter of the late Joseph William and Hazel Day Hamman.  She was a member of the Strasburg Presbyterian Church and attended Toms Brook United Methodist Church.  She worked for Aileen, Inc. for over 40 years as an assistant supervisor.  Lillie worked at Craven Hall Nursing Home in Woodstock for a period of time and also worked as a dining room host at the Strasburg McDonald’s for several years.  She loved her flowers, animals, her friends, close neighbors, and her son’s dog, Buster.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank Casper Zirkle, Sr.; a son Michael Zirkle; her siblings Gladys Garrett, Juanita Himelright, Alvin C. Hamman, Lee Hamman, and Wilma Ryman.
Survivors include her only son Frank C. Zirkle, Jr. (Icelee Nelson) of Woodstock, VA; one sister Genevieve Reager of Front Royal; nieces and nephews Sandy McGheen (Robert), Karen Grant Brown (Pete Robison), Joyce Ann French, Gene Hamman (Barbara), Leo Ryman (Gloria); numerous great-nieces and great-nephews along with her special friend Sandy Lawson.
The family would like to extend a special gratitude of thanks to the staff of Hidden Springs Senior Living and her in home caregivers Lalani Mitchell, Gloria Green, Fiona Sullivan, Kathy Miller and Susan Goody, for all of the care and compassion they have given to Lillie during her time of illness.   
Memorials may be made to the Woodstock or Strasburg Vol. Rescue Squad.
