Lewis "Ed" Edward Campbell
Lewis Edward “Ed” Campbell, 79, husband of Cherie Adele (Shepherd) Campbell, of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at her residence.
Mr. Campbell was born in Goshen, Virginia on July 29, 1945, a son of the late Lewis D. Campbell and Fannie Elizabeth (Colvin) Campbell.
Ed retired from Swan Construction Company as a contractor and formerly worked as an auto body mechanic at Brookville Auto Body. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed watching wild animals.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by five brothers, Oscar D. “Brownie” Campbell, Clyde Campbell, Donald Campbell, Fred Campbell, and Nelson Campbell; and five sisters, Ruth Ellen (Campbell) May, Maude Campbell, Bessie (Campbell) Fridley, Mary Lou Campbell, and Susan Fridley.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 57 years, are two sons, Michael E. Campbell of Maryland and James E. Campbell of Staunton; a sister, Thelma Larson of Maryland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Per Mr. Campbell’s request, there will be no services.
Friends may visit the family at their residence.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
