Lewis Crabill

Lewis Franklin Crabill, 94, of Toms Brook, VA passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, at The Warren in Woodstock, VA.

Mr. Crabill was born on September 17, 1930, at the Crabill homeplace in Toms Brook, VA, a son of the late Luther Franklin and Grace Hottle Crabill.  Lewis graduated from Toms Brook High School and worked on the Crabill family farm.  After serving in the U.S. Navy, he returned to Toms Brook where he worked for many years with the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier.  Lewis enjoyed gardening, riding his horses, and getting together with family and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings Mary Elizabeth Griffith, William Crabill, Dorothy Fravel, Eugene Crabill, and Harry Byrd Crabill.

Survivors include one sister Eva Reid of Toms Brook, VA and a sister-in-law Frances Crabill of NC along with numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. Crabill is also survived by special friends Mike and Heather Ashley and their three daughters and Vincent Sine. 

A celebration of life service for Lewis will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Toms Brook, VA with Rev. Robert Wise officiating.
