Larry Stuard Kelley
Larry Stuard Kelley, 76, of Mount Solon, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born on November 4, 1946, to Stuard and Arvilla (Clinedinst) Kelley.
Larry was dedicated to his family, his community and his country. He graduated from Buffalo Gap High School where he was a member of the 1965 Bison District 5 Championship team. He served his country in the US Army in the 54th Military Police. Larry worked at Packaging Corporation of America for 32 years and Manheim for 14 years. He faithfully served Mount Solon Pentecostal Church as a trustee, Sunday school teacher and enjoyed singing with the Freemen. He was a founding and lifetime member of the Mount Solon Fire Department. Larry loved traveling, riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing.
He was united in marriage to Linda Michael Kelley, with whom he would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on November 9, 2023.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters, Shannon Kelley Moore and Sara Kelley Lawhorne and husband JR; grandchildren, Raven Redman, Caleb Jordan, Emma Jordan, Collin Lawhorne, and Camden Lawhorne; great-grandchildren, Emelia Redman, Gioia Redman, and Tyson Jr. Redman; his brother, Billy Eugene (whom he always called "Brother") Kelley and wife Betty, and nephew, Ricky Kelley and numerous in-laws, cousins and friends.
Larry's life will be celebrated on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Mount Solon Pentecostal Church with Pastors Charles David Clinedinst, Norman Rush and Winston Clinedinst officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Solon Fire & Rescue Squad.
