Larry Edward Snyder

Larry Edward Snyder, 72, husband of Mary Jane Burton Snyder, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Larry was born on July 5, 1950 in Staunton to the late Charles Edward, Jr. and Lola Marie Murphy Snyder.

He was a maintenance supervisor for the Burke-Parsons-Bowlby Corporation for over thirty years.

He enjoyed playing cards, skill games, antiquing and collecting, and going to auctions. Most of all, he loved watching his son and grandchildren play sports.

In addition to his loving wife of fifty-one years, he is survived by his son, Chris Snyder and his wife, Leslie; his daughter, Hilary Curry and her husband, JJ; his grandchildren, Mason Snyder and Paisley and Maelie Curry; his brothers, Douglas Snyder and his wife, Jenny, Timothy “Tim” Snyder and his wife, Tracy, and Danny Snyder (Mary); his sister-in-law, Barbara Snyder; his mother-in-law, Charlene Burton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Snyder; his father-in-law, Robert F. Burton; and a special aunt, Ruth Banks.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 8, 2023 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Green Hill Cemetery in Churchville with the Pastor Todd Lilly officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Shuey, Roger Snyder, Kenton Smith, Manuel Hutchens, Gary Breeden, Ben Shuey, and Danny Fisher.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Shuey, Bobby Hoy, Robbie Hoy, and all of Larry’s card-playing buddies.

It is suggested that those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Churchville Volunteer Fire Department (PO Box 608, Churchville, VA 24421).

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff of Augusta Health for their care, kindness, and attention during this time.
