Larry Allen Lantz

Larry Allen Lantz, a loving husband, caring father, adored grandfather, and proud Navy veteran, passed away on October 15, 2023, at his residence in Grottoes. He was born on April 5, 1946, in Buckhannon, West Virginia, to the late Harold and Betty (Long) Lantz.

Larry's dedication and commitment were evident throughout his life. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Navy on May 1, 1966, serving his country with honor and distinction. Following his military service, Larry pursued a career as a mechanic for Smith's Transfer, and later as a welder working diligently for McQuay in Verona. He exhibited great skill and passion for his work, leaving an indelible mark on the projects he completed.

Outside of his career, Larry found true happiness in his loving family, fishing, and hunting. He was a devoted husband to his wife Diana (Fortune) Lantz, a pillar of strength and support. Their 55 years of marriage were filled with endless love, shared laughter, and cherished memories.

Larry's heart also overflowed with pride for his children and grandchildren. His son, Shawn Lantz, followed in his father's footsteps, embodying the same dedication and work ethic. Larry's daughter, Wendy Lantz Kincaid and husband, Dennis, brought immeasurable joy to his life, and his grandchildren, Ryan Lantz and wife, Amber, Cristian Floyd, and Mandolyn Lantz were the source of his utmost pride. Welcoming his great-grandchild, Royce Lantz, added an extra sparkle to Larry's eyes. Larry also leaves behind a brother, Sammy Lantz and wife, Brenda.

Larry will forever be remembered for his generosity, unwavering fairness, integrity, and compassionate nature. He was a true friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kind soul and genuine interest in others' well-being will be deeply missed.

In honor of Larry's life, a memorial service will be held on October 20, 2023, at 5:00 pm at the Wayside Baptist Church, with Pastor Levi Smith officiating, where friends and family will gather to celebrate his remarkable journey.
