Kimberly Sorrells Hudson

Kimberly (Kim) Sorrells Hudson, 60, of Grottoes, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at her home with husband Michael (Mike) Hudson by her side. She was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on July 27, 1963 and was a daughter of the late Elbert McGrady and Helen Virginia (Groah) Sorrells.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Brooke (Conor Haines) Hudson and Haley (Tyler Humphreys) Hudson; sister, Rhonda (Tony) S. Fortune; her beloved dog, Seamus; granddogs, Ziggy, Raiden, Ezra, and Dexter; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws, and Aunt Rebecca (Harry) Elrod.

On September 27, 1986 she was united in marriage to her best friend, Mike. They loved the beach and sharing late nights at bars while Mike shredded on guitar and Kim ran the sound. In 1993, she became a mother to daughter, Brooke. Three years later, she gave birth to daughter, Haley. She was happy and busy, caring for her family on summer trips, cooking for the girls and their friends, and supporting every family member in their interests and activities. From Mike's music, to Brooke's soccer, to Haley's choir concerts, she was always there to cheer them on. Her family, and the New York Giants, of course. There are not enough words her family could use to truly convey the part she played in their lives; simply that she was, and will always be, one of the best parts of it. This sentiment is reflected by many in the community as she touched a number of lives as a coach for the Staunton American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), a supporter of Mike's numerous bands, and her successful career as a title underwriter.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024,at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes,with Chaplain David Kite officiating.
