Kelin Elizabeth Baxley Hansley

Kelin Elizabeth Baxley Hansley, 41, left us on Saturday, May 13, 2023. She was a beautiful vibrant redhead whose passion was helping others.

She was born on June 27, 1981 in Alexandria, Virginia and had a B.A. in Psychology and M.Ed. in Special Education. She spent her professional life working as a therapist with the differently abled, specifically children with autism and special needs.

Outside of work, she was compassionate and caring to those in need, especially ones who were facing trauma. She enjoyed the mountains, cooking, and reminiscing about family adventures and mishaps. She loved creative pursuits - drawing, painting, and all types mini projects. To everyone’s delight, Kelin was an exceptionally thoughtful gift-giver.

In January of 2020, Kelin lost Eric, her dear husband of 12 years.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Erica Hansley Methland; her mom and dad, Bonnie and Troy Baxley; her sister, Robin Hawkins (David); her brother, Philip Baxley (Katie); her nieces, Dagny and Greer; her nephew, Calder; her uncle, Howard Worrell (Ann); cousins, Ashley, Lynsey (Jeffrey), Whitney (Daniel).

The family thanks Jean Luc Charbonnet, a dear friend, who was key in helping Kelin through to the end.

A Memorial Service for Kelin will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church in Staunton.
