Karen Sue Sheffer Horn

Karen Sue Sheffer Horn, 76, of Mount Solon, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Augusta Health.

She was born in Baltimore, MD, on July 20, 1947 and was a daughter of the late George Harrison Sheffer, Jr. and Anna Sue Terry Sheffer.

Karen graduated from Buffalo Gap High School, class of 1965. She had worked at Metro Pants, General Electric, North River School, L&E Industrial, DCS Computer Systems, Messer Landscaping and Deere Horn Ice Cream. She was a charter member of New Beginnings Church. Karen was a member of Buffalo Gap Young Homemakers (Past President), 4-H Leader at North River School, and an Honorary Member of the W.L "Bill" Simmons Tractor Club.

Karen was united in marriage on August 7, 1965 to Paul Richard Horn who survives.

In addition to her husband, Karen is survived by three sons, Curtis (Tina) Horn, of Mount Solon, Tracy (Jennifer) Horn, of Mount Solon, Ricky (Audrey) Horn, of Mount Solon; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Grayson) Horn, Bryce Horn, Katie Horn, Megan Horn, Makayla Horn, Roxanna Horn, Riley Horn; one Great-Grandchild, Dawson Horn; a sister, Sherry Riddle; brother in law, Charles (Faye) Horn; sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Sheffer; and two nephews, Nicholas Sheffer and Michael Volmer, and numerous cousins.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Sheffer.

Friends may call at the Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on January 6, 2023, at New Beginnings Church with Rev. Steve Wingfield officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
