Karen Sue Mahoney West

Karen Sue (Mahoney) West, 66, wife of David Michael West, of Norwood Road in Staunton, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. West was born in Burlington, Vermont on February 2, 1957, a daughter of Joan (Bushey) Mahoney and the late Robert Mahoney, Sr.

Karen was a member of St. Francis of Assisi and retired as an office manager from EmergiCare. She enjoyed being outside, craft painting and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her father, Mrs. West was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Sue (West) Nolley.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 47 years, and her mother of Burlington, Vermont, are two sons, Scott West and his wife, Samantha of Williston, Vermont and Brett West and his wife, Melissa of Staunton; three brothers, David Mahoney of Bolton, Vermont, Robert Mahoney Jr. of Milton, Vermont, and Bill Mahoney of South Burlington, Vermont; two sisters, Lauri Boudah of Bradenton, Florida and Kathy Lacross of St. Albans, Vermont; seven grandchildren, Trevyn West, Chyna Nolley, Mikayla West, Aubrey West, Lauren West, Camdyn West and Cole West; and two great-grandchildren, Kaedence West and ZaQor Scott.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by Father Matthias Lusembo.

The family will receive friends following the service in Assisi Hall.

Burial will be held at a later date.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
