Karen S. Westfall Howell
Karen S. Howell, 71, of Reedsville, WV and formerly of Petersburg, passed from this life to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV surrounded by family.
She was born April 28, 1952 at Buckhannon, WV and was the daughter of the late Oney and Rose (Huffman) Westfall.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband, George “Buck” Howell, Jr., whom she married June 20,1975. And also one brother, Willard Westfall.
Surviving is her daughter, Autumn, granddaughter, Ashley (Branden) and great grandson, Coen Michael. Also surviving are four sisters, Shirley Woofter, Patricia (Freddie) Smith, Debra (Don) Catlin and Darlene Reger, all of Buckhannon, WV and brother, James (Wilma) Westfall, Buckhannon, WV and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 2 special “grandsons”, Cole and Kyle Dranbauer.
Mrs. Howell devoted her life work to the elderly and disabled residents of West Virginia and retired from Region 8 Planning and Development Council/Area Agency on Aging. After retirement, she worked as a social worker at the Grant County Senior Center. Mrs. Howell was a devoted dog lover especially to her Gracie Mae and Maggie (who met her in Heaven). She loved her Lord, her family and every second she spent with great grandson Coen.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg from 12 Noon till time of service at 2 PM.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Ministers Tiffany Parker and Phillip Dulin officiating.
Interment will be in the Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, WV.
