Karen "Bradshaw" Ward

October 16, 1957 - August 14, 2023

Karen (Bradshaw) Ward, 65, of Stuarts Draft, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Ward was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia on October 16, 1957, the daughter of Kenneth Beverley Bradshaw and the late Dorothy Lee Bradshaw.
Karen loved church and is a saved member of Connections Baptist Church. She enjoyed serving in ministry especially with VBS. She retired from Weekday Religious Education as a teacher and enjoyed being part of this ministry. Her desire was that all would come to the saving knowledge of Christ. Karen had a love for hymns. Her favorite hymn is, “In the Garden”.
Through her many physical infirmities she never complained and always had a smile for all she would meet. Her strength and courage were like a lion not measured by its size but by its heart. One of her favorite biblical verses was Isaiah 41:10, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Karen was a beautiful individual exemplifying Christ and a people person. She loved the Lord and always put others before herself. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and family were her life and she wanted them to know they were loved. She was an inspiration to everyone she met.
In addition to her mother, Karen was preceded in death by a son, Chad Logan Ward.
Surviving, is the love of her life and caregiver, Jesse Ward; father, Kenneth Bradshaw, step-mother, Jean Bradshaw; a son, Adam Ward; brothers, Jason Bradshaw and Brian Smith; daughters-in-law, Jessica Ward and Katie Robison; four grandchildren, Logan Ward, Brynna Ward, Tesa, and Dakota; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Jennifer Petruzzi; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Bill Johnson. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
