Julian Russell Keith, Jr.
Julian Russell Keith, Jr., 89, of Waynesboro passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Shenandoah Hospice House, Fishersville.
Born June 12, 1934 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Russell J. Keith, Sr. and Kathleen Wells (Martin) Keith.
Julian was a faithful member of Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren, Waynesboro. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Shentel Phone Company where he worked as a computer programmer for over 20 years. Following his time of employment with Shentel, he was employed by Martin’s Grocery Store where he worked in the bakery. He was a gifted cake decorator and baker and his cakes were enjoyed amongst family and friends often. Julian was also a talented artist and floral arranger. He took great pride in being able to share the art of floral arranging with friends in the community. He was a member of T.O.P.S. VA Chapter 0205, Fishersville where he served as treasurer for many years. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine “Rennie” (Gregory) Keith; and sister, Betty Lou Ogden.
Survivors include his daughter, Laura Rena Rines (Ronnie) of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Mandy Johnson and husband, Kevin, and James Douglas “J.D.” Rines, Jr. and wife, Brie; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Ayden, and Brantley Johnson and James Douglas “Trey” Rines, III; special friend, Kay Connor of Waynesboro; special sister-in-law and caregiver who took care of him at home, Linda Metz and husband, Russell of Waynesboro; brother-in-law, Jim Gregory and wife, Sue, of Waynesboro; numerous nieces and nephews; and his T.O.P.S. family and Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren family.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren, 19 Brown’s Lane, Waynesboro with Pastor Mike Woods officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

The family would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to his hospice nurse, Jeannie; his CNA, Gracie; chaplain, Matthew; and the entire staff of the Shenandoah Hospice House for their love and care of Julian.
