Judy Moomau
Judy Gaynell Serrett Moomau, 82, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025. She was born on September 7, 1942, the daughter of the late Jack and Julia Serrett.
Judy, lovingly known as Girney, was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who will be remembered for her boundless love, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry “Chubby” Serrett; her sister, Betty Fitzgerald and her sister-in-law, Cheri Serrett.
She is survived by her daughters, Fonda Perry and husband, Rick, Gail Coyner and husband, Scott and Nedra Puckett and husband, Ben; her grandchildren, Justin Perry and wife, Stephanie, Jason Perry and wife, Hannah, Jayden Perry, Travis Coyner and wife, Lindsey, Megan Yancey and husband, Spencer, Jacob Wyrick, Skylar Puckett, Jonathan Puckett, Olivia Puckett and Alex Puckett; her great-grandchildren, Maddison and Maysen Perry, Derek and Dawson Perry, Kylie and Tripp Coyner, Huxton and Bodie Yancey, Greyland Puckett and Timothy Conner. Judy is also survived by her brothers, Doug Serrett and Gene Serrett, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro conducted by the Rev. Billy Coffey. Friends will assemble at the cemetery for the service. Serving as Active Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Travis, Jason, Jayden, Jonathan, Jacob, Alex and two sons-in-law, Scott and Ben.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Judy’s Hospice of the Shenandoah Nurse, Kim Lowry, and the dedicated caregivers at English Meadows of Fishersville, Memory Care --- for their compassionate care and support.
At the family’s request, memorial contributions may be made in honor of two of her great-grandsons to: Camp LIGHT, P. O. Box 446, Crimora, VA 24431.
