Judy Jean Simmons

Judy Jean Simmons, 78, of Weyers Cave, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Shenandoah House.

She was born on October 9, 1947, the daughter of the late Wilmer Pearlie and Icie May (Losh) Simmons.

Judy was united in marriage on June 28, 1969, to Lester Olin Simmons who preceded her in death.

Judy worked as a bottle decorator at Artisan Packaging until retirement. Prior employment was Metro Pants in Bridgewater and Grief & Company, a.k.a. Genesco in Verona.

The joy of her life was her daughter Jill and when out and about, you never saw one without the other. Judy had a love for her flowers and granddogs, Bentley, Bailey, Gunner, and Lady Diesel.

Judy is survived by her beloved daughter, Jill Renee Simmons and fiancé Jeremy Ludholtz.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Donnie Simmons; sister, Bonnie Puffenbarger; adopted brother, Samuel Henry Moats and special granddog, Kinzley.

A service celebrating Judy's life will be held on June 6, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater with David Kite officiating. Burial will follow at Weyers Cave Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
