Juanita Agnes Sheets Brown Landes
Juanita Agnes (Sheets) Brown Landes, 84, of Staunton, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Landes was born in Staunton, Virginia on April 22, 1939, a daughter of the late Rufus Earl Sheets and Frances Juanita (Carson) Sheets.
Juanita was a member of Lindon Heights Baptist Church and attended Middlebrook Church of God. She enjoyed shopping, going to yard sales, and traveling. Along with her former spouse, Juanita owned Natural Way Health Food Store in Staunton.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Landes was preceded in death by her former spouses, Theodore Alton “Foxie” Brown and Harold “Meatball” Landes; a son, Ronald Alton “Ronnie” Brown; a brother, Junior Earl Sheets; and a sister, Brenda Jean Johnson.
Surviving, is a daughter, Kathy Lynn Strickler and her husband, Larry of Staunton; two brothers, Gary Wayne Sheets and his wife, Mary Ann of Middlebrook and William David Sheets and his fiancé, Shirley Harris of Stuarts Draft; a sister, Vickie Diane Wiseman of Stuarts Draft; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen “Kathy” Conner Brown of Staunton; two grandchildren, Rhonda Brown and Brian Strickler and his wife, April; a step-granddaughter, Michelle “Shelly” Spradlin; a great-grandchild, Reese Strickler; two step-great-grandchildren, Austin and Samantha Spradlin; a number of nieces and nephews; and her traveling buddies, Millie Jarvis and Maxie Griffin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Larry Strickler and Luke B. Smith. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be her grandson, Brian Strickler and nephews, Adam Lilly, Tyler Lilly, Brandon Lilly, Matthew Sheets and Travis Sheets.
It is suggested, that those desiring make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
