Joyce Marie (Painter) Quick

Joyce Marie (Painter) Quick, 88, of Waynesboro passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Brookdale Staunton.
Born September 18, 1935 in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late Grant J. and Ida Florence (McCrary) Painter.

Joyce was a faithful member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church. As a church member, she served as a nursery attendant and helped with the flower arrangements for Sunday services. Joyce was an avid gardener, and always had the greenest grass and the most beautiful flower beds at her home. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Quick, Jr.; grandson, Joshua Brandon Quick; and two sisters, Doris and Janice.

Survivors include her two sons, Thomas G. Quick and wife, Kathy, of Churchville, and John M. Quick and wife, Kerry, of Hayes, VA; daughter, Penny P. Quick of Harrisonburg; five grandchildren, Christina Kraus, John Quick III, Devin M. Quick, Atasha Richie, and McKession Irvine; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, Waynesboro with a date and time to be announced at a later date.
