Joyce Eleanor (Campbell) Brown

Joyce Eleanor (Campbell) Brown, 84, widow of George W. Brown, formerly of Westside Drive in Staunton, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 in the Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab Center in Fishersville.

Mrs. Brown was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia on April 29, 1938, a daughter of the late Clyde William and Edith Lillian (Sensabaugh) Campbell.

Mrs. Brown was retired from C&P Telephone / Verizon as a clerical supervisor and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Joyce enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and traveling.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a son, John Lloyd Brown; and a brother, Stephen B. Campbell.

Surviving are two brothers, Clyde Wayne Campbell and his wife Joy of Fishersville, and Winston Dale Campbell and his wife Janet of Craigsville; a sister, Jennifer Melton and her husband Larry of Millboro; a sister-in-law, Mildred (Brown) Jarvis of Middlebrook; a special nephew, Barry Campbell; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Larry Strickler.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.

It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
