Joseph "Joe" William Lotts, Sr.
Joseph (Joe) William Lotts (Sr.), 76, went to be with Jesus in Heaven on Monday, June 26, 2023.
Joe was born on May 19, 1947, grew up on a farm in Spottswood, and graduated from Riverheads High School (class 1965). He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and later worked at UPS where he received the Safety Driver Award for all 30 years there.
He was a long time member at Raphine Christian Church. His biggest joys in life were spending time with family and friends, eating at buffets, morning coffee at McDonalds, going to the Staunton Y, and bargain shopping. He was known for his humor, big heart, and for being a man with strong faith in God.
He is deeply missed by his son, Joseph “Joe” W. Lotts, Jr. (Rachel), his daughter, Wendy Sue Lotts Nichols, best friend and companion Barbara Gough, his grandchildren: Jacob Eli Nichols, Lila Rose Elizabeth Nichols, and Joseph “William” Lotts, III, his close friend and mother of his children Faye Bunch (John), as well as numerous other family and friends.
Loved ones that preceded Joe in death were his mother, Queenie Oliver Lotts, his sisters, Mary Gibson and Winnie Graves, and his brother, Frank Lotts, as well as his first grandchild Miriam Elizabeth Nichols.
A Celebration of Life with visitation afterwards, will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 2pm at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Frontier Dr., Staunton, VA 24401.
