John William Fisher

John William Fisher, 87, of Stuarts Draft passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at his home.
Born June 17, 1936 in Shenandoah County, VA, he was a son of the late Robert Carmen and Beulah May (Bowers) Fisher. On June 13, 1970 he married Sherry Kay Brewer. The two shared 54 years of wonderful marriage.

Prior to retirement, John worked as a machinist and later in the real estate industry. He was a member of Saint Matthews Lutheran Church, Mount Olive, VA and the Woodstock Moose Lodge #575. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and watching horse races. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Fisher; brother, Gene Fisher; and sister, Marie Vermillion.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Kay Fisher of Stuarts Draft; children, Michael Fisher of Waynesboro, Carolyn Gardner of Waynesboro, and John Fisher and wife, Michele Irvan of Churchville; and two grandchildren.

Following cremation, in keeping with John’s wishes there will be no formal services.
