John Paul Miller

John Paul Miller, 89, of Mount Sidney, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

He was born on February 23, 1936, in Augusta County, and was a son of the late John and Margarette (Sandy) Miller.

John retired from ASR after more than 38 years of dedicated service and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was also a gifted artist, found joy in bluegrass music and attending performances by local musicians, and he was known for his green thumb in the garden.

John was united in marriage to Fay Kathleen (Huffer) Miller, who preceded him in death on Jan. 12, 2025.

John is survived by two children, Tim (Patricia) Miller, and Teresa (David) Gilkeson; sisters, Pauline Painter and Dorothy Dean; grandchildren, J. Matthew (Lauren) Gilkeson, J. Derick (Janelle) Gilkeson, K. Becca (Josh) Stiteler, Megan (Jeremy) Shifflett, and Tyler Miller; great grandchildren, Jackson, Steven, and Gunnar; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; grandson, Brandon Miller; six sisters, Wilma Massey, Grace Royer, Viola Baker, Mabel Walton, Janet Woods, Helen Miller.

Services will be announced at a later date.
