John Franklin Baker

John Franklin Baker, 94, son of the late Walter Dice and Mary Etta Showalter Baker, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.

John was born on November 18, 1928 in Rockingham County.

He was a carpenter by trade.

He is survived by his son, Jay F. Baker; his daughter, Tammy S. Begoon and her husband, Tommy; his grandchildren, Holly Baker, Heather Rodriguez and her husband, Christian, and Courtney Begoon; and his great-grandson, Grayson Baker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Magdalene Baker Roever.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home with the Reverend Luke Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM.

A family graveside service will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery in Weyers Cave.
