John Bernard Jordan
John Bernard Jordan, Sr., 89, widower of Ethel Marie “Peggy” (Miley) Jordan, of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Jordan was born in La Crosse, Virginia on May 19, 1934, a son of the late Arthur Jordan and Bessie (Reid) Jordan.
John was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Columbia Gas as a service technician. He was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church and attended the Job Sunday School Class. John enjoyed aviation, fishing, hunting, and making fishing lures.
In addition to his beloved wife of 64 years, Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Earl Jordan and William Edward Jordan.
Surviving, is a son, John Bernard Jordan, Jr. and his wife, Elise of Clarksville, Maryland; two daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” (Jordan) Glover of Staunton and Brenda (Jordan) Cook and her husband, Rick of Churchville; six grandchildren, Jeremy Jones, Kimberly Cook, Daniel Goepel, Travis Cook, Ricky Cook, and Justin Cook; seven great-grandchildren, Rowan Jones, McKenzie Shipe, Ashton Cook, Kaleb Cook, Hailee Cook, Brooklyn Cook, and Trever Cook; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Luke B. Smith and Todd Yoder. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Scott Almarode, Travis Cook, Justin Cook, Ashton Cook, Kaleb Cook, and Trenton Shipe.
