Joella Elizabeth Bosely

Elizabeth Joella Martin Bosely, 89 of Belfast, Virginia passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024 in Waynesboro, Virginia
Joella was a full-of-life, hard working, independent woman. Born in Belfast, Virginia to George Edgar Martin and Euva Adkins Martin on May 16, 1934. She most recently was married to Dennis Bosely, who preceded her in death. Joella attended school in Bluefield, West Virginia until the 9th grade and then earned her G.E.D. She worked briefly for the Department of the Interior. After starting a family, she then worked in various restaurants and retail stores where she was often hired as a manager.

Joella is preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde, John and Ralph Martin. She is survived by three sons & a daughter, Clifford and Rose De Vor of Ankara, Turkey; Stanley De Vor and Lisa Gayle Riggs of Waynesboro, Virginia; Lisa De Vor Lewis of Buena Vista, Virginia; and Steve and Tonia Hicks of Waynesboro, Virginia.

Joella loved and cared for 4 grandchildren: Sera De Vor of London, England; Brittany Claytor of Oak Hill, West Virginia, Hayden and

Arizona Hicks of Lyndhurst, Virginia; Ryan Hicks of Waynesboro, Virginia, and 1 great-grandson, Gabe.

A Celebration of Life will be held graveside at Augusta Memorial Park at 1775 Old Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro, VA 22980 on Thursday, February 1 at 2:00pm in the Everlasting Life Section (top of the hill).
