Joann Lohr Gilkerson

JoAnn Lohr Gilkerson, 95, of Bridgewater, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025 at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

She was born on March 11, 1930 and was a daughter of the late Ralph and Beulah (Wotten) Lohr.

JoAnn had worked Harrisonburg Telephone Company. She was a member of St. Michael's United Church of Christ. She was active in the Bridgewater Fire Department Ladies Auxillary.

JoAnn was united in marriage to Griffin Ward "Griff" Gilkerson who preceded her in death on January 6, 2022.

JoAnn is survived by her son, Greg Gilkerson; granddaughter, Mellanee Gilkerson, sister, Phyllis Wisman and husband David and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by her siblings, Jessie Long, Marvin Lohr, Jack Lohr, Mary Spitzer, Jean Andes, and Phoebe Hoover.

Burial will be private.
