Joan Anthony Tuten

Millie Joan Anthony Tuten, 91, of Waynesboro, Virginia passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Summit Square in Waynesboro.

She was born on October 9, 1932 and was a daughter of the late Kiser and Alma (Morgan) Anthony.

Joan had worked at the Baptist Hospital and the VA Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC prior to her retirement. She was a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church in Clemmons, NC, and had attended Main Street United Methodist Church in Waynesboro and chapel services at Summit Square. She loved her Savior and her family.

Joan was united in marriage to Arthur Alston Tuten who preceded her in death on January 9, 2011.

Joan is survived by her children, Susanne Schiess, of Wheat Ridge, CO, Alan "Al" (Lynn) Tuten, of Crimora, Herb (Sabrina) Tuten of Hamptonville, NC; her sister, Edna Pritchard; four grandchildren, Robert (partner Heather Bauknight) Tuten, Tony (Michelle) Schiess, Ian (Andréa) Tuten, and Laura (Bryan Lundsford) Schiess; and two great grandchildren, Delilah Schiess, and Ira Tuten and nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating Joan's life will be held on February 21, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Summit Square Chapel in Waynesboro, VA.
