Jerry Hodge

J. Owen Hodge, 63, of Waynesboro, Virginia passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
Owen was born in Waynesboro, VA. to Jerry Hodge and Lynn Joyce on August 2, 1960.

He attended Wilson Memorial High School in Fishersville, VA.

On April 5, 2015 he married Anita Roberts in Crimora, VA.

Owen worked as a high voltage electrician for many years, retiring while working at Kingsbay Naval Submarine Station in Kingsland, GA. His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, camping and helping others.

Owen was preceded in death by his mother, Lynn Joyce of Florida and father Jerry Hodge of Alabama.

Survivors include his loving and dedicated wife, Anita and daughter Kasey of Waynesboro; sons, Christopher Hodge of Fort Payne, AL, Jeremy Hodge of Peducah, KY; sister, Lori Hodge (Bobby Walley) of Orange Park, Fl; five grandchildren, Cody, Emily, Elizabeth, Paisley of Fort Payne, AL, Grace Hodge of Paducah, KY,; special cousins Marti and Teri, as well as numerous friends and family that he loved dearly.

In accordance to his wishes, there will be no services at this time. A planned celebration of Owen’s life will be held later this year at one of his favorite places he truly enjoyed, Sherando Lake.

Owen’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice of the Shenandoah and a special thanks to nurse Kim Lowry.
