Jean A. Pitsenbarger

CHURCHVILLE – Jean (Adams) Pitsenbarger, 86, passed away Wednesday (October 4, 2023) in her home.

Born January 24, 1937 in Augusta County, she was a daughter of the late William and Clarice Belle (Perry) Adams. Jean graduated from North River High School and was employed by Genesco for 28 years prior to retirement. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church. Her favorite pastimes included reading, bird-watching, and flower-gardening; she also enjoyed shopping excursions.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Randolph Pitsenbarger; a sister, Naomi Christine Stogdale; and a brother, Marion Adams.

She is survived by three children, Peggy Reaves-Nance of Vinton, Rhonda Vines of Staunton, and Dwayne Pitsenbarger of Churchville; a sister, Shirley Coffey of Staunton; three grandchildren, numerous extended family members and a special friend, Wendy Gray.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, October 16 in Oak Lawn Memory Gardens.
