Janet Rhodecap Landes

Janet Rhodecap Landes passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Blue Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing in Harrisonburg.

A daughter of the late John Henry and Sarah Rebecca Crawford Roadcap, she was born in Burketown, VA on March 11, 1932.

She graduated from Weyers Cave High School and worked for thirty-four years for the Grief Companies in payroll, the last seven years in management.

She was a life member of Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church where she had served as an Elder and in many other offices within the Presbyterian Women.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie G. Landes, Sr., whom she married on June 11, 1950. They lived their married life in Mount Sidney.

She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, John S., Jack B., and Wesley T. Rhodecap and her three sisters LaVerne Flory, Louise Akers, and Faye Fitzgerald.

Janet loved her family and took great delight in her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Leslie G. Landes, Jr. and his wife, Sherry of Mount Sidney; her grandchildren, Kaitlynn Landes of Mt. Crawford, Dustin Landes and his wife, Erin of Staunton, Jack Landes of Mount Sidney, and Michael Dull of Stuarts Draft; her great grandsons, Zayden Thomas Landes and Kason Landes and great granddaughter Adalynn Belle Landes

A graveside service will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Reverend Stan Farthing officiating.
