Janet Pompeo
In Loving Memory of Janet Pompeo
September 30, 1936 – June 27, 2025
Janet Louise Pompeo, devoted follower of Jesus, loving wife, beloved mother, spirited grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother passed from this life on June 27th, 2025 peacefully surrounded by her family and is now walking with the Lord. A woman of enduring faith and grace, Janet touched countless lives with her kind spirit, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and Savior.
She was the cherished matriarch of 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who fueled her life’s joy. She was a loving wife to her husband, Robert, with whom she shared 60 years of family, faith, and happiness. She was the family’s prayer warrior and its loudest cheerleader who always provided a compassionate ear, encouraging voice, and welcoming embrace.
Janet was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church for over half a century, where she raised her family to love Jesus. She joyfully served in the church choir and musical programs, sharing her love of worship through song. Her faith was the foundation of her life and the legacy she passed on to her growing family.
Born in Bridgeville PA, Janet was a gregarious and fun-loving beacon of light who poured selfless love into everyone she met. Her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to know her. In all her 88 years, Janet never met a stranger. While overcoming 3 battles with cancer she would selflessly and courageously pour hope and encouragement into other patients during her chemotherapy treatments.
She is survived by her husband Robert, her loving children: Jeff (Lisa), Ron (Dawn), Lenny (Sibyl), and Denice (Karl), and her grandchildren Ethan, Jacob, Allie, Lucas, Joshua, Nicholas, Zachary, Tyler, Logan, Samantha and Ryan who will continue to carry forward her legacy of love, strength, faith, and humor.
A graveside service will be held at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro on Tuesday, July 1, at 2:00pm, immediately followed by a joyful celebration at Main Street United Methodist Church to commemorate her life and legacy. All who loved Janet are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to Shenandoah House Hospice, whose incredible staff provided comfort and care in the final weeks before she left us to join Jesus in heaven.
