Janet Erlene (Puckett) Johnson
Janet Erlene (Puckett) Johnson, 82, wife of James F. “Jim” Johnson, Sr., of Little Calf Pasture Highway, Craigsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at her home.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Augusta County, Virginia on May 17, 1943, a daughter of the late Donald Edward Puckett and Minnie Drucilla (Knight) Puckett.
Janet was a dedicated licensed practical nurse whose career spanned several healthcare facilities, including King’s Daughters Hospital, Craigsville Medical Center, and Churchville Family Practice. She later retired from Western State Hospital after many years of compassionate service. Known for her warm and inviting presence, Janet brought comfort and kindness to everyone she met. Outside of her profession, Janet found joy in traveling, camping, tending to her flower gardens, and relaxing by the pool. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 62 years, are her son, James F. “Jimmy” Johnson, Jr. and Sandy Dill of Craigsville; two daughters, Susan Annette Wilcher and her husband, Gary, and Kristie Renee Sours and her husband, Todd, all of Craigsville; three grandchildren, Staci Moran, Cody Wilcher and his wife, Anna, and Kynlea Sours; five great-grandchildren, Brice Moran, Brooklyn Moran, Brantley Wilcher, Natalie Wilcher, and Colbey Wilcher; three sisters, Shirley Blackwell and her husband, Donald, of Staunton, Eunice Conner and Richie, of Edinburg, and Wanda Conger and her husband, Ken, of Verona; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Those who wish to pay their respects may do so on Saturday, July 5, 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Craigsville Community Cemetery by Pastor Garey Wilson.
