James Carter

July 8, 1970 - February 6, 2024

James Carter, affectionately known as Jamie or JC to family and friends, passed away at the age of 53 on February 6, 2024, in his hometown. He was born in Waynesboro, Virginia, on July 8, 1970, to the late Pete and Teresa Carter, and was the youngest of 4 siblings.

Jamie attended school in Waynesboro and completed his education at Job Corps. He later returned to pursue his GED. Jamie had a remarkable sense of humor! His laugh was infectious and would echo a room and his humor brought joy to anyone fortunate enough to be in his presence. People were drawn to Jamie because of his lighthearted nature.

Jamie shared a unique connection with children, effortlessly channeling his inner child in their presence, creating lasting memories for every child in the family. He loved being around his relatives and they loved being around him. He also took pleasure in detailing cars, cooking, and eating. Whenever Jamie visited a loved one's house, you could always count on him to clean out the refrigerator because if he didn’t bring anything else, he brought his big appetite.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Teresa Carter; father, Pete Carter and maternal grandmother Helen “Granny” Carter and many other loved ones.
