Irine Mary Kuykendall

Irine Mary Kuykendall, 85, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

She was born on December 9, 1937 and was a daughter of the late Ira and Louisa (Armstrong) Van Fossen May.

She retired from Hanover Shoes in Franklin, WV, after many years of service.

Irine is survived by children, Judy Simmons and husband, David Lambert, of Staunton, VA, John Simmons and wife, Rhonda, of Franklin, WV, Jerry Kuykendall and wife, Tina, of Dayton, VA, and Jeffrey Kuykendall and girlfriend, Debbie and a very best friend, of Franklin, WV; brothers, Robert Van Fossen of Richmond, VA, Samuel Van Fossen of Dayton, VA, and David Van Fossen of Shenandoah, VA; sisters, Margaret Wimer of Staunton, VA, Marlene Flannigan of Harrisonburg, VA, and Marcella Hopkins of Harrisonburg, VA; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Justin Kuykendall; sisters, Marie Heavener, and Martha O'Leary; brothers, Connell, William, and Joseph Van Fossen.

A graveside service celebrating Irine's life will be held 11 AM on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at West Augusta Cemetery, with Pastor Billy Curry officiating.

Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater is entrusted with arrangements.
