Herbert Paul Ketterman

May 18, 1964 - January 17, 2024

Herbert “Paul” Ketterman Jr., age 59, of Moorefield, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.  Paul was born on May 18, 1964, the son of the late Herbert Paul, Sr. and Irene Janette (Wratchford) Ketterman.  On May 13, 2019 he married his wife, Carla (Burns) Ketterman, who survives in Moorefield.

Paul attended Petersburg High School and was a Christian by faith.  He was currently employed as a Plant Manager at Pilgrim’s Pride in Moorefield for over 35 years.  Paul was a member of the Potomac Valley Archery Association, Valley View Golf Club, Local Men’s Bowling League, and a former member of the Men’s Softball League.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.   He was a true outdoorsman and family man who will be loved and missed by family and friends.  

In addition to his wife, Herbert is survived by: 4 daughters, Cassie Ketterman of Cross Junction, VA; Danielle Raines (Brett) of Franklin, WV; Jordan Ketterman of Petersburg, WV; Zoey Ketterman of Petersburg, WV; a son, Herbert Paul “Herbie” Ketterman, III of Petersburg, WV; 2 step-daughters, Modest Zirk of Moorefield, WV; Brittany Shingleton of Moorefield, WV; 2 sisters, Delphia Holloway of Petersburg, WV; Lucille Riggleman (John) of Rig, WV; 2 brothers, Earnest Ketterman (Amanda) of Moorefield, WV; Rex Wratchford (Peggy) of Moorefield, WV; 9 grandchildren, Ethan Swick; Owen Ketterman; Connor Raines; Kaylin Tingler; Oliver Shipp; Rider Shipp; Brielle Raines; Lucy Shipp; and Kingslee Shingleton.

Mr. Ketterman’s family will receive friends on Monday, January 22, 2024, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Allen Sisson officiating.  Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, WV.
