Helen E. Hevener

CHURCHVILLE – Helen Estelle Hevener, 69, formerly of Churchville, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Born October 12, 1956 in Staunton, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Clifford Hevener and Edith Hilda (Fore) Hevener.

Helen attended C. F. Richards Jr. Academy and Buffalo Gap High School. She received a typist certificate from Dunsmore School of Business and completed additional secretarial courses through Blue Ridge Community College. She was employed as a clerk or typist for a number of employers in her earlier adult years. Helen was an avid reader; she also enjoyed playing card games and listening to live music. She was a member of Staunton Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She is survived by three siblings, Bonnie Ann Hevener Moyers (husband Carl) of Staunton, David Carlyle Hevener of Staunton, and Anita Jean Hevener Ratcliffe (husband Calvin); nieces Lisa Craig (husband Steven), Leslie Tutwiler (husband Brian) Julie Moyers (husband Craig Robson) and Missy Robinson; nephew Rick Moyers; uncle Lacy Hevener; and many cousins.

A private burial service will be held in Green Hill Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20 in Staunton Seventh-day Adventist Church.
