Hazel B. Zickefoose

Hazel B. (Bennett) Zickefoose, age 85, of Medina (Cleveland), OH, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina, OH. She was born on October 30, 1937, in Cherry Grove, WV, the daughter of the late Vinza and Mary (Johnson) Bennett. Hazel married Bernard Abel Zickefoose, who preceded her in death on December 20, 2004.

Hazel was a 1957 graduate of Circleville High School. Following graduation, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She retired in 1995, from Modern Tool & Die, where she had worked as an assembler, attaching the wheels to lawn mowers and snowblowers. 

Hazel leaves behind to to cherish her memory: a daughter, Barbara Duran (Jerome); twin grandsons, Christopher Duran and fiance Sarah Richter and David Duran (Mackenzie), all of Medina, OH; step daughter, Stella Price (Buck) of Elkton, VA; and step son-in-law, Donnie Curry of Durbin, WV. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a brother, Glen D. Johnson and his wife Irene; and a step daughter, Theresa Curry. 

Hazel's family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2, 2023, 11:00 Am until 12:30 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Fletcher Hutcheson officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Hazel's name to your favorite charity, or plant a tree on her behalf.
