Harry "Tom" Thomas Wiseman
Harry Thomas “Tom” Wiseman, Jr., 96, widower of Violet Charlene (Doyle) Wiseman, of Peach Street in Staunton, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Wiseman was born in Spottswood, Virginia on November 25, 1926, the son of the late Harry Thomas Wiseman, Sr. and Virgie Alice (Jarvis) Wiseman.
Tom retired from Smith’s Transfer after 38 years as a truck driver and later worked for Staunton City School System for over 20 years as a bus driver. He was a member of Cherryvale United Methodist Church and Teamsters Local 29. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and bluegrass music.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, and parents, Mr. Wiseman was preceded in death by a son, Michael Thomas “Mickey Wiseman and two sisters, Lucille Sweet and Ann Wiseman.
Surviving, are three daughters, Becky W. Stimeling of New Martinsville, WV, Wanda W. Losh and her husband, Dennis of Fishersville, and Carol W. Presgraves and her boyfriend, Roy of Staunton; a sister, Catherine Fitzgerald of Staunton; a grandson, Andrew Thomas Fitzgerald and his husband, Bill; his pet dog, “Luna” and cat, “Salem”; and a number of nieces and nephews.
At Mr. Wiseman’s request, there will be no public viewing.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023 in Augusta Memorial Park by his nephew, Rev. Lewis Sweet.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is handling his arrangements.
