Hannah Marie Oxendine Licwinko passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah in Fishersville.
She was born in Staunton to the late Charles Merritt and Frances Beatrice Fitzgerald OxendineHannah had a fulfilling career as the assistant manager of Goodwill in Staunton and also worked for fifteen years at the Staunton News Leader. Her hard work and dedication to her profession left a lasting impact.Outside of work, Hannah had many passions and hobbies. She was an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Staunton Moose Lodge #1635. She believed in giving back to society and was a dedicated supporter of the American Cancer Society, the Special Olympics, and the Wounded Warriors Project. Hannah's compassion for others was truly admirable.Music held a special place in Hannah's heart, and she was a devoted follower of many local musicians and bands from the Staunton area.She is survived by her sons, Charles Anthony McCray and Derek Wayne Hailey; her sisters, Joyce Melinda Oxendine Robare and Sandy Oxendine; numerous cousins and aunts; and her special friends, Tammy Coe and Tim Wilson.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, David Templeton Hailey; her half-brothers, Richard Wayne Slagle and Russell Vaden Slagle; and a special friend, Sharon Anderson.The family will receive friends on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton. The funeral service will be held on the following day, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the same location, with the Reverend Glenn Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.
