Gregory "Greg" Alan Meadows
Gregory Alan “Greg” Meadows, 65, husband of Kimberly (Driver) Meadows, of Fort Defiance, peacefully passed away at their home surrounded by family on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Mr. Meadows was born in Miami, Florida on September 13, 1959, the son of the late Leonard Franklin “Bud” Meadows and Lula Belle “Lu” (Marion) Meadows.
Greg retired from DuPont in December 2020, concluding a remarkable 43-year career as an electrical planner. A man of deep and unwavering faith, he was a devoted member of New Life Baptist Church. His relationship with the Lord was the guiding force throughout his life. He was most proudly known for spreading God’s word and the hope found through Him to all he encountered, giving Bibles and gospel tracks to numerous individuals. He also led Bible studies and developed many questions he was prepared to ask others once he reached his Eternal Home in Heaven.
In his free time, Greg found joy in the great outdoors. He loved bass fishing, hunting, farming, and camping—activities that reflected his appreciation for nature and peaceful moments. He immensely loved camping and could often be found relaxing in his camper in their backyard.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of twenty-six years, are three sons, Tyler Meadows and his wife, Jessica, Zach Meadows and his wife, Jordan, and Chase Meadows and his wife, Sara; six grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Charlotte, Noah, Shaw, Wren, Kate, and Augustus “Gus” Meadows; a sister, Tammy (Meadows) Early and her husband, Todd of Madison, NC; in-laws, Charles and Pat Driver, brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Lisa Milo, many nieces and nephews, and a “bonus” brother, Rick Morris and his wife, Fonda. Greg was a devoted and loving husband, father, and “Pawpaw”. He took great pride in taking care of others, especially his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Crossroads Baptist Church by Pastors Corey Smallwood and Heath Spivey.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will be private in Middle River Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Dale Coffey, Rick Morris, Mark Davis, Jessie Smiley, Greg Marshall and Todd Ritchie.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to New Life Baptist Church, or New Hope Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 38, New Hope, VA 24469.
The family would like to express a sincere “Thank you” to Dr. Kyler and his team at Augusta Health Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Dr. Witt and her team at Sentara Hematology and Oncology, and the Legacy Hospice Team for the care and compassion shown to Greg and Kim.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
