Glenn "Bobby" Lichliter

October 3, 1955 - February 2, 2024

Glenn Robert "Bobby" Lichliter, Jr., 68, of Strasburg, VA, left this world on February 2, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with liver disease. His memory will live on in the hearts of his best friend and soul mate of 39 years, Barbara; his beloved daughters, Amy (Jeremy), Heather (Lucas), & Michelle (Ryan); his grandkids, who he adored, Griffin, Haydn, Shade, London, & Maia; his furry companion, Jasper; and the many, many friends he'd made along the way.

Bobby was born October 3, 1955, to Glenn Robert and Elizabeth (Libby) Lillian Ramsey Lichliter, Sr.  He was a 1973 graduate of Strasburg High school. He went on to work for Capital Records and retired from Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Bobby's greatest joy came from his family, and he never missed an opportunity to talk about how proud he was of each of his girls, or how much he loved his wife. He enjoyed the special friendships he built with his 3 sons-in-law, and he cherished his role as pawpaw & pop.

While his family was his first love, cars were a close second. He was a member of the Mustang Club for many years and won Grand Nationals with a 1966 blue Mustang Fastback he and his father shared. Even after he was no longer a member, he continued to attend car shows all over. He had an impressive diecast and slot car collection and enjoyed attending dirt car races.

Everywhere Bobby went, he wore a smile. He loved to laugh, and it was contagious. He was gentle and sweet and was appreciative of the small things.  His kindness knew no bounds and he always looked for ways to help others. He will be missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to meet him, but the light he carried in this world will continue to shine through all he touched.

Bobby will be laid to rest at Riverview cemetery, with a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024.  The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home and Crematory from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The family will accept flowers, or in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to his friends with the Strasburg Vol. Rescue Squad, who sometimes even made multiple visits a day to offer a helping hand.

You may sign the guestbook and submit your condolences to the family at www.stoverfuneralhome.com.
