Gladys Wonderley

Gladys Wonderley, 92, of Grottoes, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Sunnyside Retirement Community.

She was born on September 15, 1933, and was a daughter of the late Hunter and Flossie (Stickley) Wonderley.

After more than 40 years of service, Gladys retired from Rockingham National, and was a member of Mt. Horeb Presbyterian Church in Grottoes where she served on numerous committees. Gladys enjoyed helping others and generously volunteered her time at Sunnyside and Bridgewater retirement communities.

Gladys is survived by a sister, Peggy Wonderly of Grottoes, and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles "Bo", and Carl Wonderley, and a sister, Ruth Wonderley.

A memorial service celebrating Gladys's life will be held at 7 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Mount Horeb Presbyterian Church in Grottoes, with Pastor John McDonald officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be private.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Sunnyside for the care provided to Gladys over the past year.
