Gladys Mae Berry

February 10, 1945 - January 16, 2024

Gladys Mae Berry passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born on February 10, 1945, in Harrisonburg, to her late parents George Norman and Viola (McDaniel) Berry.

Family was the cornerstone of Gladys's life, and she cherished the moments shared with her loved ones. She is survived by her sons, Alan Johnson, and Brook Johnson and wife, Angie, whom she adored deeply. Gladys was a proud grandmother to her grandson, Joshua Johnson and wife, Erica, and her special granddaughter, Chelsey Lam. She is also survived by a brother, Delmas Berry, a sister, Mildred Terry, and her special kitty, Bella.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Wilmer Berry, Leonard Berry, Carrie Bentley and Mattie Gibson.

For many years Gladys dedicated her time and efforts to Massanutten Resort, providing service to visitors from all walks of life. She enjoyed puzzles and movies, socializing with friends, and attending Impact Ministries in Elkton where she was a member. Her important beliefs and values that have guided her life came from the word of God.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 PM on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes.

Funeral services to honor Gladys's life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 21st, at the funeral home, with Pastor Brad Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in McGaheysville.
