George Eldridge King
George Eldridge King, a member of the Mount Solon community, passed away on September 2, 2023, at the age of 68. Born on April 26, 1955, in VA, to Bernard M. and Mable R. (Knott) King.
George dedicated his life to honing his craft as a brick mason. With his skilled hands and impeccable attention to detail, he built structures that will stand as a testament to his talent for generations to come. His work was not simply a job but a passion that brought him immense joy.
Beyond his profession, George shared countless memories with his cousin Randy Ott; brothers, Jimmy, Arnold, and Garland King; sisters, Lelia Whetzel, Linda Rexrode, and Mary Delawder. George also leaves behind a son, Jeremy Harlow; daughter, Monica Fritz; grandchildren, Nicole Fritz, Jasimine Fritz, Zachary Fritz, and Tapanga Fritz; and great-granddaughter, Peyton Fritz and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Ann Wayson and Susie "Susan" E. Rexrode.
As an Army veteran, George proudly served his country. The values he learned during his service shaped his character and strengthened his resolve. George remained grateful for the experiences he gained throughout his military journey.
In accordance with George's wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes will be laid to rest at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Sangerville. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 16, 2023.
